DIM-3 (Drone Interceptor Missile 3”) Harpax (derived from Greek mythology, Harpies were swift, agile, winged creatures known for accurately snatching their prey) is a family of supersonic, tri-mode short range surface-to-air, air-to-air, or air-to-ground missiles that provides neutralization of airborne Unmanned Systems, or ground targets. The missiles have full day/night capability and employ a passive infrared target acquisition system, laser guidance, proportional navigational guidance, a closed-loop position servo Fin Actuation Unit (FAU), and an Active Optical Target Detector (AOTD).

The Propulsion/Steering Section consists of a solid-propellant Rocket Motor that propels the missile and incorporates a manual SAFE-ARM selector assembly, a FAU to activate four control fins, mounted in line with four forward mounted fixed wings that provide aerodynamic lift and stability, and a Jet Vane Control that provides enhanced maneuverability by deflecting rocket motor thrust to aid in turning.

DIM-3 Harpax missiles will be available in the following models and configurations:

• - DIM-3 Harpax-AIR, is an infrared guided KKV-12G (Kinetic Kill Vehicle with a single 12-Gauge fragmentation shot) variant of the Harpax family.
• - DIM-3 Harpax-AL, is a laser guided KKV-12G (Kinetic Kill Vehicle with a single 12-Gauge fragmentation shot) variant of the Harpax family.
• - DIM-3 Harpax-BIR, is an infrared missile carrying an Annular Blast Fragmentation warhead which is controlled by an ESAD (Electronic Safe-Arm Disarm) system.
• - DIM-3 Harpax-BL, is a laser guided missile carrying an Annular Blast Fragmentation warhead which is controlled by an ESAD (Electronic Safe-Arm Disarm) system.
• - Test bed for testing new technologies
• - DIM-3 Harpax-CIR, is an infrared missile with an open payload bay, allowing the customer to equip the missile with their preferred payload.
• - DIM-3 Harpax-CL, is an infrared missile with an open payload bay, allowing the customer to equip the missile with their preferred payload.
• - DIM-3 Harpax-XIR/L, is our most advanced Harpax model, featuring an infrared as well as a laser seeker. It further offers an improved Lock-On-After-Launch performance via an added data link capability to either the ground operator or the platform it was launched from.

The DIM-3 Harpax missile family is a first of its kind, designed to be low-cost, low-maintenance, multi-mode kill-solution, against Unmanned Aerial Systems, as well as HVGT (High Value Ground Targets).
